Choco-Hazelnut Truffle Energy Balls

These chocolatey snacks are quick and easy to make, but a little messy to roll (though worth it). They do contain sugar so don't eat too many at once! You can use any liquid sweetener of your choice; you only need a little to help the dough bind, as they already have sweetness from the dates.

• Chocolate Truffle Energy Balls •

INGREDIENTS:

100g ground toasted hazelnuts or ground almonds 40g dates 13g tablespoons carob or maple syrup or raw honey (approx.2 tablespoons) 30g cocoa 1 teaspoon coconut oil (solid) 4 Tablespoons hot water (a little extra ground or chopped nuts and cocoa for rolling) Blend all ingredients in a food processor or high-powered blender Put dough in fridge to set for 20 minutes or so. Shape into individual balls and dust in cocoa and chopped nuts.
